Very good restaurant . Sushi are nice and I loved their poke bowl . The restaurant is near of Eiffel Tower and Trocadéro .

This is the worst sushi I have ever had till now.
The menu is a mess and it is so hard to understand it but at the end after ordering several dishes from menu it turned out that all the plates on the menu are the same .
On the top , the waiter or manager is really impolite and disrespectful.
Don't eat at Ponzu. Go to Marzo or Victor if you are in the neighborhood. -

I may have been in the wrong area, but I was really craving sushi and that's how I stumbled upon Ponzu. Depending on where you've had sushi previously this could either be a hit or miss. However, it did fulfill my sushi craving, I ordered the miso soup, shrimp gyozas, salmon nigiri, and the special rainbow roll (I was hungry, don't judge).
First, they served me miso soup with a spoon which I've never seen before. Looked like the table next to me was using it though, so perhaps that's why i received one as well.
The main reason for the 3 stars was the sushi rice. Specifically in the nigiri. It had way too much vinegar and was actually inedible for me. I picked the salmon off and left the rice. The gyozas seemed to be either steamed (or microwaved) for too long and were a tad bit soggy. But they were fine. The special rainbow roll was very average as well. I have had better with much fresher fish.
The decor however is very nice. Dim lighting, cozy, and could be romantic. Not necessarily traditional, but modern and sleek.
If you're a sushi snob, you might want to skip this one. I think there's a Japanese neighborhood in Paris where you would have better luck. For everyone else traveling in need of a quick sushi fix, this could work.
Edit: I originally gave this restaurant a 3-star rating. That is the score I would've given if this restaurant existed in San Francisco. However, I realized I was the first to review and wouldn't want to discourage people from trying it out and giving this restaurant another chance. Therefore, I've added the additional star for the lovely ambiance. Cheers! -

Great Japanese food near our hotel. They had lots of veggie and fish options for those of you who are not meat eaters. The veggie bao burger was excellent and came with the best sweet potato fries I have ever had. The only reason why I am giving it 4 stars is because the spring rolls and miso soup were quite standard and the ambiance wasn't perfect. However, I highly recommend for a lunch or dinner.

Stopped in here on New year's day 2019. The place was empty but decided to give it chance due to reviews. The food was not that good and def did not taste remotely Asian. Not even the hot sauce was hot. The man working the front was nice but kept sniffing and texting on his phone instead of taking care of the 1 person in the place (me). It is a kosher regulated place but the chicken was processed, I can tell by the texture. I had the miso soup, which needed more flavor and the chicken with noodles And carrots / onions for veggies. I considered the green tea but is 4 euros while the soup was 2. If you go , go with caution and maybe order the poke I stead of the chicken.
